Veterans Park Pavilion and the Atwater Youth Center

Located at the corner of Bellevue Road and Buhach Road Veterans Park is home of the Veterans Park Pavilion and the Atwater Youth Center.

The Bloss Grounds shall be available for reservation by users on a first come, first served basis. The Bloss Grounds shall be considered reserved only upon payment of $350.00 deposit. Deposit is refundable after the event.

Atwater Skate Park Rules

The Recreation Division is responsible for coordinating and supervising quality recreational programs, activities and events for adults and children. We offer a variety of athletic programs for participants of all ability levels, from the competitive, to the group of co-workers looking to spend some quality time together away from the work environment. Our youth programs are designed to create a safe and positive environment for everyone involved.

Youth Activities

INDOOR SOCCER
A non-competitive league designed for children ages 4 to 6 years old. This program is designed to teach the game of soccer to young individuals and to encourage teamwork and good sportsmanship. All practices and games will be played at the Atwater Community Center.

Ages: 4 to 6 year old (must be 4 years old when program starts and cannot be 7 before program ends)

SUMMER DROP IN PROGRAM
Children can participate in many forms of recreational activities under the supervision of qualified Recreational Leaders. The Drop-In Program is held at the Youth Center at Castle Park, Monday thru Friday.

Ages: 6 to 12 years.

Registration Ends: When full (Maximum 150 participants)
Program Dates: 7 weeks starting in June

FLAG FOOTBALL
Designed for participants who want to play football at a less physically demanding level than that of tackle football. Games will be played weeknights at Memorial Ball Park. The flag football league is open to boys and girls who are currently enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grades (lower division) and 5th and 6th grades (upper division). Practices are scheduled to begin in mid-September with league games being played from mid-October to late November. Most practices and all league games will take place on weekday evenings at Memorial Ballpark.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL
This program is designed for boys & girls in grades 4th through 9th. The league is divided into upper and lower divisions based on grade level. Volunteer coaches teach the fundamentals and guide the participants through a fun and exciting season.

YOUTH BASKETBALL
This program provides an opportunity for children Kindergarten through High School to participate in a basketball league. The leagues in this program are divided by grade and gender to maintain the highest level of competitiveness and enjoyment. The program is divided into 7 divisions. Game days may vary for each division.

Adult Activities

ADULT CO-ED VOLLEYBALL
This league has three levels of play – Upper, Middle and Lower Divisions. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday nights at the Atwater Community Center. A maximum of 16 teams will be accepted in this league. Rosters are limited to 12 players. All players must be at least 18 years of age.

OSBORN PARK TENNIS COURTS
Play tennis year round on two lighted and recently resurfaced tennis courts. To obtain access to these two nicely maintained courts, a key must be purchased from the Recreation Department. New keys are available for purchase on March 1st of each year.

Junior Giants Program

This great and non-competitive summer baseball program is open to Boys & Girls 5 – 13 years old. The season will start in June and end in early August. There will be 3 divisions, T-Ball, Minors and Majors. The Jr. Giants Foundation along with Bank of America are the sponsors of this program. The program teaches baseball and character development. All players receive a baseball hat and jersey. This is a free program.

Atwater Senior Social Club

The Atwater Senior Social Club meets every Tuesday at the Atwater Community Center. Each week, the club members eat lunch and play bingo from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Legal Services

Legal assistance is available to senior citizens through Merced County’s Area Agency on Aging. These services are available by appointment only.

Mature Driver’s Class

Be a safer driver. This course covers safer driving techniques for older adults.
Students who are age 50 and older may be eligible for an auto insurance discount with certificate of completion. Please check with your auto insurance for more information.
Classes are held once a month at the Atwater Community Center located at 760 E. Bellevue Road, Atwater, CA 95301.

There is a $2.00 state certficate fee.
