Fire Service Transition to Cal Fire:
This project was a complicated multi-year endeavor that included many facets and steps. This included the Fire Master Plan, analysis of the Cal Fire proposal, financial and operational analysis, negotiations with the Fire Employees Association, contract negotiations with Cal-Fire, implementation and transition planning and execution of the implementation plan. This was a complex and difficult project with many steps and hurtles. We estimate that the contract will provide long-term cost savings, performance and service level enhancements. The contract began on October 2008 and we are now evaluating contract performance.
