History is Steeped in Tradition

Atwater has become a community influenced by the roots of local agriculture, Highway 99, and the former Castle Air Force Base. Each has influenced the community and remains important fixtures. The City of Atwater is a progressive community when it comes to assisting and cultivating business. The City's growing residential development is spurring commercial investment, construction, and services. Additionally the City has an established history of food processing, farming, and light manufacturing companies.

2012 Unscheduled Planning Vacancy

NOTICE OF UNSCHEDULED VACANCY ON PLANNING COMMISSION AND TRAFFIC COMMISSION:   The City of Atwater is accepting applications for one (1) unscheduled vacancy on the Planning Commission, term ending December 2013 and one (1) unscheduled vacancy on the Traffic Commission, term ending December 2014.  Applications are to be submitted to the City Clerk Department by 6:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2012.The date for interviews/appointment is tentatively scheduled for a Special City Council meeting on March 12, 2012.
